No words can properly convey our deepest condolences for the devastating and unfortunate death of one of our members and friends.
SPECIAL CALL MEETING
On December 11, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at American Legion Post 88, 2874 Elm Hill Pike, Nashville, TN there was a Special Call Meeting regarding the budget of the TDVA. As you are probably aware, Governor Bredesen has asked for reductions in the states budget to include the TDVA.
This would result in the closing of several field offices and reduction in manpower (employees) which will burden a great number of our veterans across this state who depend on their service. There is presently a back log in the claims department of approximately 6-8 months, which can only worsen with budget cuts; travel for outreach service reduced, to mention only a few items. Veterans across this state depend on the TDVA.
TRICARE 2010 Budget
The 2010 Budget submitted by the Obama Administration does not contain legislative proposals to increase Tricare fees and the funding levels requested for the Defense Health Program do not assume savings from such proposals. Secretary Gates recently expressed his concern about the impact of increasing Tricare costs on the rest of the DOD budget and was quoted as saying
“Health care is eating the department alive. Part of the problem is, we cannot get any relief from the Congress in terms of increasing either co-pays or the premiums. The DOD FY2010 Budget Summary Justification offers a similar message:

Most recently, VFW efforts halted the Department of Veterans Affairs proposal to re-review more than 70,000 cases it had already decided for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The review’s sole purpose was to revoke awards for disability compensation under the guise of fraud review.

TRICARR VACCINES
Tricare beneficiaries can now receive select vaccines with no out-of-pocket expense at retail pharmacies. For the first time ever, beneficiaries can visit Tricare retail network pharmacies to receive seasonal flu, H1N1 flu and pneumonia vaccines at no cost.

Yes tax time is here once again, don’t fall victim to tax scams. Remember that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
