We are getting a bathroom at the VFW Post, just as soon as you volunteer to help build it. We need people that can run a small bucket backhoe, and people to help in the building. Please call Bill at 654-4854.
Officer Nomanations
VFW Post 2120 needs you to step up and participate in its growth. The Post will not run its self; it needs all of us to do our part. That means we need people to run for offices. We need a Quartermaster for our Post; this only takes 2-3 hours
a month. The Post commander cannot hold this office. We also need people to volunteer for commitees and to chair committees. Without your interest, this Post may not survive. Pleese think about this............

We need nominations for officers for the upcoming year 2010-2011.
Commander, Quartermaster Senior Vice and Junior Vice.
This is a formality that is required by our National By-Laws. Our procedures will also be discussed and voted.
We welcome Mr. Richard Lee US Army veteran of Viet Nam as a new member.
Our new name will be Cpl Clifton East Smith Sr. VFW Post 2120.

Flag Education
On June 14, 1777, the Marine Committee of the Continental Congress adopted a resolution that gave birth to our national flag. The resolution read:
"Resolved that the flag of the United States be made of 13 stripes, alternate red and white, that the union be 13 stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation."
Flags and flag education are important elements of the VFW's Citizenship Education program. In fact, flags are the most commonly requested items from the VFW's Emblem and Supply Department, which sells more than 250,000 flags each year.
Lanny Smith, Donnie Shearer, Jimmy Lee Howard and Bill Crawford, attended a meeting on March 25, 2010 for the Honor air program. This program sponsors air flights for WWII veterans to Washington DC to visit the WWII monument at no cost to the veteran. The May meeting we will discuss the role our post will play. Thought of the month
I have a simple philosophy: Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. Scratch where it itches.
